This book was an excellent first novel by a surprisingly accomplished writer. The story is richly detailed and well paced. The characters are extremely realistic and very personable. For me, the interpersonal relationships between the characters is what made the story so enjoyable. This author definitely has a great strength in telling a complex tale with just the perfect amount of detail.
